Wuikinuxv First Nation -
Rivers Inlet, BC

In June 2024, Wildy Enterprises completed a full generator replacement and controls modernization project for the Wuikinuxv First Nation in the remote community of Rivers Inlet on British Columbia’s coast.

Our scope extended far beyond installation. Wildy upgraded controls, integrated modern switchgear, commissioned the system, and produced detailed drawings and documentation for long-term operation and maintenance. While on site, we also undertook significant renovations to the powerhouse building bringing it up to code, improving safety, and ensuring the facility is equipped to reliably serve the community for years to come.

This project demanded complex logistics, hands-on technical expertise, and a deep respect for the land and people we were working with. Wildy is proud to have delivered a high-performing, modernized power solution that supports the Wuikinuxv First Nation in safeguarding their essential infrastructure.

The work began months earlier at our Calgary facility, where our team performed extensive testing, customization, and integration of the new 400 kW prime-power generator and its skid, ensuring the system was fully vetted before transport.

Once complete, the unit was packaged and moved from Calgary to Port Hardy, where it was transferred to a barge for the final leg into Rivers Inlet. Wildy’s team then flew into the community and remained on site for several weeks, working alongside local leadership and multiple subcontractors to coordinate demolition of the existing system, remove two aging generators, and install the new equipment.
